I recently deployed an update for including images from the feeds in the mobi books. To keep the file sizes small all images are downloaded to the server, scaled down to match the Kindle Paperwhite screen resolution and finally heavy dithered in black and white.
The results are far from perfect but feeder.mobi now supports images. Next step is to extract the alt attribute for every images and show them as clear text.
